Two huge names left us this weekend. Bob Cassidy, the great mentalist, and Daryl, the fantastic technical magician's
magician.
They both left huge legacies. They inspired countless works. They fought until the very end to pay their bills.
It's sad how we treat the best in magic and mentalism. Daryl's passing is a shocking reminder of that. We need to quit using people in magic and mentalism, until we use them all up.
So I have a few things to say. You can ignore and skip them if you wish. Go
straight for the freebie I am giving you here in honor and gratitude for Daryl and Bob. But I hope you read this and think carefully about the reality of it all.
You cannot expect magicians and mentalists to support magic and mentalism if you won't support them.
Stop saying it doesn't hurt anyone to not support creators or to rip others off. Clearly, it does hurt them. Be angry with me once again for saying so, if you want. But
not supporting creators does hurt people. No matter how big of a name they are.
Do you understand now? I truly hope so. I hope you at least pause and think about it now, rather than rail against me for saying so.
Accolades are not enough. Thanks is not enough. Creative magicians have to pay their bills too.
Learn at least this much from Daryl. The cost for learning this one was not
free.
