MENTAL BET is a very direct and quick demonstration of a classic mind reader as gambler plot.
A stack of poker chips, a die, a royal flush poker card hand, and a $100 bill are put on the table.
The cards can be mixed if desired. The poker hand is placed face down on the table. A participant rolls a die several times to be sure it isn't loaded or that it is
some phony die.
Finally, the participant settles on a number. THEY count that number of chips off the stack and arrive at a random denomination chip (say $200). They set their chip aside. The other chips are seen to have different values on them.
The participant counts the same number of cards off and arrives at a card. These may be counted faces up, one at a time, by the way. Let's say they end on the ACE. They place their $200 chip on the
Ace.
The $100 bill that has been in full view the whole time is opened. On it is a gold sticker that reads "$200 on the ACE."
No sleights. Cards are clearly shown. Not double cards or any of the usual stuff. The chips are real heavy legit clay poker chips. The die can be checked repeatedly too.
You don't have to have the prediction be on the $100 bill. You could instead make a prediction on a blank card and put it
in an envelope.
